Meeting with the Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration and the Mayor of Odessa

Zareh Sinanyan, High Commissioner for Diaspora affairs, Tigran Seiranian, Ambassador of Armenia in Ukraine and Gevorg Petrossian, Consul General of Armenia in Odessa met with Maxim Kutsiy, head of the Odessa Regional State Administration. The High Commissioner congratulated M. Kutsiy on assuming the new position and stressed the importance of the rapprochement and development of Armenian-Ukrainian relations, noting at the same time that the Armenian community of Ukraine, including the Armenians of Odessa, are fully integrated and active in all spheres of life. According to Zareh Sinanyan, this proves the hospitality and benevolent attitude of Ukraine towards Armenians. In his speech, Maxim Kutsiy expressed the readiness to always support the Armenian community.

Afterwards, a meeting took place with the Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov. The Mayor noted that the city is distinguished by its multinational population and peaceful coexistence. He also emphasised the existing inter-community relations between Odessa and Yerevan and the prospects of their development. Gennadiy Trukhanov highlighted that the local Armenian community is respected, distinguished by its culture, faith and church, and by the Armenian garden/park that captivates the visitors of the city. At the end of the meeting, Zareh Sinanyan noted that the Armenian community of Ukraine loves its country of residence and considers it its home and homeland.
