Meeting with Yuri Gusev, Governor of the Kherson region of Ukraine within the framework of the 11th International Agro-Industrial Forum in Kherson

On July 18-20, Consul General of Armenia in Odessa Gevorg Petrossian participated in the 11th International Agro-Industrial Forum "AGROPORT SOUTH KHERSON 2019" held in the city of Kherson.

High-ranking officials of the Ukrainian authorities, representatives of the diplomatic corps, foreign delegations, heads of agro-industrial partner-complexes of the regions, scientists, as well as leading representatives of business circles from different regions of Ukraine attended the forum. The participants of the forum had a unique opportunity to visit an international agro-industrial exhibition, the regional borsa of agrarian investment projects presented by different communities of Kherson region, as well as get acquainted with the achievements of the region in the field of investment and agro-industrial production.

Within the framework of the forum, G. Petrossian met with Yuri Gusev, the newly appointed Governor of Kherson. During the meeting, the Consul General congratulated Y. Gusev on his new appointment and emphasised the importance and prospects of the development of mutual relations between the two countries. Current issues related to the activities of the local Armenian community were raised. The sides touched upon the necessity of further strengthening the ties between the two countries and communities in cultural, humanitarian and economic spheres, and the implementation of joint projects. The possibility of signing an agreement between the Kherson region and one of Armenia's regions on becoming sister regions was discussed, which supposes the strengthening of permanent friendly ties, mutual acquaintance with historical and cultural values and economic cooperation.

An agreement was reached to organise days of Armenian culture in Kherson and Khersonian days in Armenia.
