Event Dedicated to the 15th Anniversary of the Mesrop Mashtots Sunday School in Odessa

On March 10, 2019, an event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Mesrop Mashtots Sunday School and 150th anniversary of the great Armenian writer, poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, took place at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Odessa. Tigran Seiranian, Ambassador of Armenia in Ukraine, Gevorg Petrossian, Consul General of Armenia in Odessa, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and other state institutions, as well as from the local Armenian Community attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Seiranian assured that the Embassy of Armenia in Ukraine and the Consulate General in Odessa will continue to enhance and deepen the ties and cooperation with the school. Ambassador Seiranian expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Armenian Community in Odessa, the teachers and parents for their unwavering commitment to the Armenian education and upbringing of Armenian children. The Armenian diplomat highly assessed the benevolence of the regional and city authorities of Odessa towards the Armenians of the region.

Samvel Tigranyan, the President of the Armenian community of Odessa, handed diplomas from the Union of Armenians of Ukraine to school’s director Elen Poghosyan, the teaching staff and other members of the community.

Afterwards, the attendees watched the theatrical performance based on Alexander Spendaryan's "Almast" opera.
